The members of Very Americans had known each other from their previous bands, and as those bands started to fizzle, Very Americans was formed. When asked how their previous experiences have impacted the new band Tony the guitarist says; “Although we’ve all had opportunities to do a lot of touring in the past, play with some bigger bands, and do some cool stuff, I think we all made some mistakes too. I think over time you can look back at those experiences and really appreciate the good ones and reflect on the not so good ones, and I think that reflection can really help you to evaluate what your expectations are and what you want to be doing good forward. I’d like to think that’s where we are right now, and I feel like we’re all really on the same page with everything as a result of our past experiences. It’s been really easy to write songs, and it feels like even if we weren’t playing in a band together I think we’d all get together just to hang out every week.”
