This is Kamp Welch again.
i am the one who writes on some of Cara’s (Tawns) facebook pages like previously:
THE LIFE AND LEGACY OF THE LEATHER NUN.
When I first met Cara was on my 53rd birthday (June 10, 2006) I answered an ad to get voice lessons since I had quit smoking 3 years prior.
She popped her head out the door and really surprised me. Shocked me actually, I knew she was no ordinary voice teacher. Over the following year she became very special to me.
Her skills in teaching were extremely enjoyable. I really looked forward to each lesson. I have the tape recordings and wish to help Cara by using its copies for a Sing With Mastrey Breathe II I would never replace her as my instructor but unfortunately: She acquired a dead sister. I saw Tawn Mastrey (a website photo actually)of a dead woman who looked HORRIBLE and I couldn’t stop crying. I never met her, and I never heard of her. I had friends in high school that had hepititus, but I have NEVER seen ANYTHING like this! I couldn’t STOP CRYING!
Well, I became homeless in 2009, and my own wife, Mary: died in 2010. Mary died of congestive heart failure, I was always with her, and she died with me standing right next to her bed. She died peacefully and went Home.
I guess you know that you usually have no rent to pay while homeless. I also play guitar and i am doing my best to obey Cara’s command to continue to sing. I’ve had issues with singing since Cara left for Minneapolis.
She’s back and forth from here to L.A. and with her, her daughter, Xaria Rose Anthony, and her partner, Grand Master Damus Jian: Cara has become very special to me. And I was only too happy to give her the money for the non profit 501c3 status of THE TAWN MASTREY FOUNDATION. It took me four years to come up with the $850.00 to make this marvelous endeavor of life happen. PLEASE God: BLESS this woman!
I am very proud of this organization and of it’s founder(s) I’m trying to stay in school, and it has taken me 8 years to get a permanent place to live. I have plans for the future, but for now I fully intend to continue supporting my dear friend: Miss Cara Mastrey, use and endorse Tawn’s cookbook called EAT THIS and continue my prayers for Cara and Damus that I fully believe that ROCK HARD AND LIVE LONG couldn’t be BETTER SAID by ANYONE!
Please put me on your mailing list.
Thank you.
I listen to this interview alot as I am still amazed at Cara’s hanging in there. I am hanging in there with he. But I am listneing to the entire interview and learn and see more each time I do. I need to tell the gentleman hist that it really takes a major balancing act to balance beer with trying to strive for good health, or health at all because our minds tell us that we can “hanlde it” I thhik that tha’t is what “handling us” wants us to believe. But to continue for that balance is commendable. The psychiatric medications I was on fo schizo affective disorder had alot of people deciding for me that taking the meds was the answe even though it caused weight gain and diabetis. My life is not my own, it belongs to the millions of people who. when i need something, tthere’nt not around.
Cool huh>
So me and the pyschiatist agreed to wean off what I was on. Zepakote,I cut doeses to the point whee I was ready to cut it off, so I did.
But I think you really honestly have to reach that point within yourself. You don’t just “do it”
so: education is the key
and patienct is the virtue.
God bless
Respectfully yours
Kamp
