This week’s free music download comes from Brooklyn’s Super Mirage, a quartet intent on waking up Brooklyn from it’s “post-hipster slumber and makes its residents unfold their arms and start dancing again.” This is obvious when you first click Play. The dark, single-string guitar melody accompanied by the slow piano and dancey drum beat open up the song and get your head bobbing, but wait, there’s MORE! Wait for the chorus and you will straight up get out of your seat and start shaking your tail feathers! The off-beat cymbals and catchy melody add to the ska-like trumpets that sneak in on you and get you excited about music again! Bands like Head Automatica and Scissor Sisters come to mind when hearing this euphonic track!
The song comes off Super Mirage’s latest album, Pretty Lies, which was released yesterday (Nov. 15), so be sure to pick it up!
