Starfucker’s “Julius” comes to us retouched and re-imagined by friends Painted Palms.
The song has a very Electro-African beat to it, implemented by deep and echoing as well as shallow and tight drums, along with deep-toned xylophones. The vocals are almost ghostly and would probably be super creepy if the beat wasn’t to upbeat and reminiscent of a Donkey Kong or Lion King-esque video game from back in the day. Thanks to the repetitive and echoing effects, you can’t really sing along … You wouldn’t want to anyway because it would distract from your groove!
Keep your eyes peeled for STRFKR’s latest album to be released in 2011.
