According to her bio, Oh Land comes from a classy, classical family. With an opera singer for a mother and a theater organist for a father, how does a former ballet dancer at the Danish Royal Ballet Academy turn out a pop hit like “Sun of a Gun”? With a heavy Bjork influence, of course!
Oh Land just released the music video for “Sun of a Gun” to promote her new EP, aptly titled Oh Land.

Today’s free download isn’t just “Sun of a Gun,” but a Daft Punk-esque sounding hybrid that comes from the remixing skills of Yuksek. This DJ/producer’s influence makes sense though when you find out that he was born and raised in France. The song starts off somewhat overwhelmingly with noise but eases into dance-inducing claps and a heavily auto-tuned voice leading the way into Oh Land’s original vocals.
