New Found Glory. Pop punk was huge for me back then and with bands like Green Day, Blink 182, Alkaline Trio, New Found Glory, Sum 41 and Jimmy Eat World dominating the genre at the time, it was hard to avoid that infectious poppy sound infused with the fast-paced tempo of punk.

We’ll review an album and let you know what it’s all about!
Lupe Fiasco :: "The Cool"
Lupe Fiasco was featured in one of my favorite Kanye West songs, “Touch the Sky” but it wasn’t until I was introduced to Fiasco’s music when my brother (who I grew up following around when he and his friends were skateboarding) showed me his video for “Kick, Push,” the single off his debut album “Food & Liquor.” The horns and lyrics that all skaters could relate to got me hooked so when “The Cool” was released in 2007, I was definitely interested.
Say Anything :: "Say Anything"
I used to be a huge fan of the Los Angeles band Say Anything. Key word: “used.” I’ve seen them about 4 or 5 times and every time, they’ve proven to be a great show, especially with a performer in lead singer Max Bemis. Unfortunately, their sophomore release ” … Is A Real Boy” was so good in my mind that nothing ever could compare to it.
Julian Casablancas :: "Phrazes for the Young"
Here at Enter The Shell, we’ve covered a couple of artists who decided to break out of the constraints of being in a group or band and venturing out on their own, like Raphael Saadiq (of Tony! Toni! Tone!) and Amanda Palmer (of the Dresden Dolls). Well, we’re about to do it again with Julian Casablancas, lead singer of the popular New York band, The Strokes.
Train :: "Save Me, San Francisco"
I’ve never been a big fan of the band Train. Honestly, I’m not even familiar enough with their work to call myself a fan. All I know is that I absolutely love their hit songs “Meet Virginia” and “Drops of Jupiter.” Unfortunately, I don’t have any of their albums so reviewing Train’s latest release “Save Me, San Francisco”
Lily Allen :: "It’s Not Me, It’s You"
For a while, Lily Allen was famous just for causing late-night scenes at clubs or for being carried out because she was too intoxicated to get out on her own. But did you know she actually released an album earlier this year? “It’s Not Me, It’s You” came out
Mayer Hawthorne :: "A Strange Arrangement"
I introduce to you Mayer Hawthorne’s “A Strange Arrangement.”
Rodrigo y Gabriela :: "11:11"
In keeping with our Spanish feel this week I decided to review Rodrigo y Gabriela’s recent release, “11:11.”
Kid Cudi :: "Man on the Moon: The End of Day"
“Man on the Moon: The End of Day.” This ambitious conceptual album had a lot of hype behind it, thanks greatly to the fact that this Shaker Heights native is the protégé of Mr. West. Not to mention we heard his debut single, “Day ‘n’ Nite,” all summer long.
Ratatat :: "Classics"
Every once in awhile, I need a break from lyrics and just need some good jams to listen to when I’m not in the mood to think. Ratatat is a New York duo that provides just that and they do in such a way that, in my opinion, keeps things fresh.
