Eric Leva may be releasing his first EP on the 29th of this month, but he is no stranger to the world of music, practicing a self taught piano since age 8 and continuing to study music ever since. In his bio it says he is an “enthusiastic 18-year-old that packs years of classical training, a ukulele, various emotions, and smart arrangements into his pop infused music,” that would be a fairly accurate description of Eric Leva, after listening to his EP you would agree too. I do have a hard time believing he is only 18 however, his voice and song topics scream mid-20’s levels of experience and quality.
The Scheme of Things EP is a record that you can’t help but be happy about. Every song is uplifting, light-hearted, heartwarming, and packed with quality musical accompaniment, that leaves you wanting more. He uses a broad range of well played instruments, including the rarely used ukulele (or at least rarely played properly). I could easily find myself hearing one of his songs in the soundtrack of a romantic comedy, or even as a montage of some sort in a “Dan in Real Life” type of comedy (that could be him reminding me of Sondre Lerche, who was featured in that movie).
Perhaps its because Eric reminds me of a young, more talented, and better looking version of myself, or maybe its just because he is truly talented; but I think he has a great future ahead of him. When the Scheme of Things comes out on the 29th of this month, be sure to check it out.
