MTV was at the center of the last podcast, so I decided to give my opinion. First, WHO THE FUCK IS kanye west? I swear, I have never heard a song from this guy! I’m not saying that to put down the guy, but what does he sing/rap about? It upsets me when a no talent bitch is famous, and I’m not! As far as kanye being a genius? What? No freaking way! When you talk about musical genius’, I think of Mozart, John Coltrane, The Beatles, Jimmy Page & Robert Plant, Vanilla Ice. kanye west is nowhere near those guys! Then this dumb fuck goes on Jay Leno and cries like a bitch on TV, then gets on stage and acts like some hard ass rapper? Come on, this guy is a piece of Smegma.
As far as Green Day ruining punk music, well I agree with Dr. J to a certain point. Acts like The Clash, Ramones, The Decendents were all pioneers of the punk era. What happened to punk? M-T-V, that’s what. MTV falls in love with bands, then ruins them. Take Green Day for example, MTV plays them, then they become a huge band. Now the record labels that didn’t expect much from a band like them, now expect bigger albums. So there is added pressure. Although I liked their track, “Time of Your Life,” could you imagine Rancid or the Dead Kennedys doing a song like that? MTV even ruined Blink 182 (who are a complete joke now), No Doubt, and Sugar Ray. They have this shitty ass award show, that no one over 15 cares about, with artists that won’t be making music 1 year from now! MTV is no longer relevant. Why do they even have a VMA Award show, they don’t even play music videos!
Green Day is a victim of their own success. Also, Green Day has gotten a lot older, so it would seem rather weird to see a grown ass man doing punk, no? Although I don’t agree 100% that they ruined punk, I will say that they are the most well-known band, I think they can take credit for its demise. Punk is not dead, there are still bands out there, you just have to listen to thousands of 30 seconds to mars sound a likes to find them!
So we’ve established that Green Day sucks and kanye is a crying-no talent-bitch! FUCK HIM! In an effort to bring peace and stability to the universe: I LOVE KY! Now the universe is happy!
Hahaha! WELL! Just to clarify things, I never claimed Kanye to be a MUSICAL genius. The point I was making was that he’s a genius in the sense that he knows how to get publicity because he’s done it so many times before and every time, IT WORKS! I personally love his music but don’t condone the shit he does in public when he acts like a baby, but what celebrity doesn’t have their issues? There are some artists who do things apart from their musical life that make them who they are. For CAKE, they’re condescending assholes, but that’s their character and I wouldn’t love them the same if they weren’t. With Kanye, it’s the same way for me. If he weren’t throwing tantrums and acting like a conceited ass, I wouldn’t love him the same!
